Tour Description
Get ready for a great day uncovering the history behind the notorious Robben Island, famous for housing a prison that once held Nelson Mandela and other freedom fighters during the apartheid era.
Your guide will fetch you at your accommodation and drop you off at the V&A Waterfront, where you'll board a ferry and begin your journey as you venture out to the Island. At the Island, you'll be led on a guided tour by an ex-prisoner that will share its history. You'll even get to visit the cell that once held Nelson Mandela for 27 years.
After your experience, your guide will take you to the Botanical Gardens in Kirstenbosch where you'll witness the sight of some of the most beautiful gardens in South Africa. Your tour culminates in the wine country of Constantia, the birthplace of the South African wine industry, here you'll taste some of the country's most exquisite wines.
At the end of this amazing experience, you'll get dropped off at your accommodation by your friendly guide.
