Arrive in Knysna via Baz Bus from Cape Town or shuttle from George. Check into your backpacker hostel on the waterfront. Spend the afternoon exploring the Knysna Heads viewpoint (free) and walking the waterfront promenade. Evening communal braai at the hostel — a great way to meet fellow travelers.

Short bus ride to Plettenberg Bay. Hike the spectacular Robberg Peninsula trail — a 9km circular route along dramatic cliffs with seal colonies, rock formations, and incredible ocean views. This is one of South Africa's best hikes and costs just the reserve entry fee. Afternoon at Robberg Beach. Return to Knysna.

Bus to Storms River Village. Walk to the iconic suspension bridge over Storms River Mouth — the Garden Route's most photographed spot. Hike the Mouth Trail through indigenous forest and along the rocky shoreline. Free afternoon to swim in the Storms River pools or relax at the village.
