Wolwedans Dunes Lodge
Floating decks above the red NamibRand dunes
About Wolwedans Dunes Lodge
Wolwedans Dunes Lodge is one of Africa's most architecturally and philosophically distinctive properties โ nine canvas-and-timber suites built on wooden decks that appear to float above the apricot-coloured dunes of the NamibRand Nature Reserve. The reserve is a 200,000-hectare private wilderness, the world's third-largest dark-sky reserve.
The lodge is owned and operated by the Wolwedans Foundation, which channels profits into Namibia's most ambitious conservation, education, and rural-development programmes. Activities are entirely landscape-driven: nature walks, scenic drives, hot-air balloon flights, and stargazing in some of the darkest skies on Earth.
