Kalandula Falls Expedition
Africa's second-largest waterfall — a thundering natural wonder few have witnessed
About This Tour
Kalandula Falls (formerly Duque de Bragança Falls) is one of Africa's most magnificent waterfalls — 105 metres high and 400 metres wide on the Lucala River in Malanje Province. During the rainy season, the volume of water creates a spectacle that rivals Victoria Falls, yet you'll likely have the viewpoint entirely to yourself.
The expedition from Luanda takes you through Angola's lush interior — past rice paddies, tropical forests, and traditional villages. Along the way, visit the mysterious Pedras Negras (Black Stones) of Pungo Andongo, a dramatic cluster of enormous black rock formations steeped in local legend.
