MalaMala Game Reserve

MalaMala Game Reserve holds a singular distinction in African safari history — it is the largest private Big Five game reserve in South Africa at 13,500 hectares, with an unmatched 20km of frontage along the perennial Sand River. This water source acts as a wildlife magnet, producing the most consistent Big Five sightings of any property in the region.

The reserve operates as part of the Tengile MalaMala Collection, with three distinct camps: MalaMala Camp (the family-friendly flagship), Rattray's Camp (a romantic retreat limited to 16 guests), and Sable Camp (intimate and rustic). Each occupies its own section of riverfront, ensuring exclusive sightings.

MalaMala's YouTube channel — with 1.3 million subscribers — has captured some of the most viewed wildlife encounters ever filmed, including extraordinary predator interactions.
