Samburu National Reserve offers a safari experience dramatically different from the Masai Mara. The semi-arid landscape of red earth, rocky outcrops, and the palm-fringed Ewaso Ng'iro River creates a stunning backdrop for wildlife found nowhere else in Kenya.
The Samburu Special Five — Grevy's zebra (thin stripes, large ears), reticulated giraffe (geometric patterns), Somali ostrich (blue legs), gerenuk (standing on hind legs to browse), and Beisa oryx (elegant horned antelope) — are all unique to this northern region.
