Sundays River Scenic Cruise

Escape into nature on a serene 2-hour cruise along the Sundays River, winding through one of the most unique landscapes in South Africa. The river flows through the Alexandria Coastal Dune Field — the largest coastal dune system in the Southern Hemisphere, stretching over 120km along the coast.

As your boat glides silently through the calm waters, towering sand dunes rise up to 150 metres on either side, creating a spectacular natural amphitheatre. Your guide points out over 120 bird species including the African fish eagle, malachite kingfisher, and giant kingfisher — making this a birder's paradise.

Keep watch for bushbuck, vervet monkeys, and monitor lizards along the riverbanks. The cruise turns around at the river mouth where the fresh water meets the Indian Ocean, offering dramatic views of the coastline.
